Technically, this wine has no name, only the bizarre image on the front of the bottle so for sake of ease we are going to call it Catbird. "It's kind of based around the concept of the wine being a bit of a mongrel, in terms of how it was made (whole bunch white picked pretty late, no fining, no filtration, no sulphur)." This is the Out of Step boys stepping out into uncharted territory, an experimental wine for them, hence the 90 dozen production. As sometimes happens in wine, this just worked. Itt's made from Sauvignon Blanc but the variety is hardly relevant, this is just great fun and something a little different!
Shredded wheat, esters and bath bombs at the fore. Dry straw, lemon grass, lemoncello acid sweeping through the mouth. Sweet mandarin and crystallised ginger. Skinsy texture, as you would think. Nice grip and an awesome spicy jalapeno thing at the back. Top me up, please.
