Made predominantly from Geelong grown Savagnin, the grapes were whole bunch pressed and fermented in barrel. After the initial fermentation took place, we let the barrels ullage allowing a natural flor yeast to grow on top of the wine. Over the course of 7 years this flor consumed the alcohol & nutrients in the wine creating nutty, lemon zest flavours. All the while the oxidative ageing created flavours of walnut, almond and mushroom. Mainly from vintages '13, '14 and '15, blended together to balance the youthful zest and aged nutty characters, this is a delicious drop best enjoyed with an aged hard cheese or comté souffle." An elegant wine, the 2018 Allegra shows minerality and a delicate acid drive from a balanced vintage. Fine acidity and complex spice on the nose, this Chardonnay is clearly built to last. As always, the Allegra is fully barrel fermented and aged for 11 months in new French puncheons. Vibrant stone fruit with hints of citrus dance across the palate with support from some toast and spice from the oak. 2018 shows amazing promise to cellar for decades.

The Fruit for the Allegra Chardonnay was sourced entirely from the historic Rebenberg Vineyard on Mount Duneed, an area first planted with vines in 1858. The premium fruit was hand-picked from 48 year old vines yielding less than one tonne/acre. Fruit was whole bunch pressed and run into 100% new French oak puncheons (450-500L) without prior clarification. Fermentation occurred with indigenous yeast. Extended bottle maturation of this wine will allow the tight complex character of this wine to develop.

From the Lethbridge, Hat Rock, Hillside Haven and Suma Park vineyards all located in the Geelong GI. The grapes for this wine were hand picked, whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented with wild yeast. The wine was allowed to go through malolactic fermentation and then aged for 11 months on fine lees in 40% new French oak barriques. A vibrant wine where a riot of orchard aromatics are the prelude for a floral palate of fig and white nectarine overlaying a a delicate creaminess, beautiful drinking.

Lethbridge Estate Pinot Noir 2024

Varietal(s): 100% Pinot Noir

The 2024 season started with early budburst due to a warm start to spring. The rest of the growing period was relatively cool and this Pinot Noir expresses this colder vintage. This wine is made with natural yeast and was fermented with 50% whole bunches for up to four weeks. Each block of fruit is fermented and aged separately in 20% new French oak barrels. The wine was blended before bottling in February 2025, the goal of which is to layer the complexities of each site and create the truest expression of Geelong Pinot Noir as a region in 2024. Tart red cherry and cranberry notes are on full display, with delicate hints of whole bunch spice. This wines is fine boned, but the soft tannins and vibrant acidity provide impressive length and complexity.
