Third release of this straight Grenache from Owen Latta, sourced from organic Shay's Flat vineyard in Landsborough, Pyrenees. Wild and pure, or purely wild, this is a beautiful light to medium bodied punchy red, replete with pepper, brown spices and bouncy red berry fruits. Traces of herbal funk and kombucha-esque zing are there but this is a drinking wine of high interest.

"The subtitle name ‘Quality Release’ is so outstanding. What a cool name. SO much better than Premium or Reserve. Kudos to you, Owen Latta and co. From Shay’s Flat (organic) vineyard, sees no additions, no sulphur, wild ferment, no filter/fining. All grenache from Central Vic, all day. Has this cherry jam, slightly medicinal thing going on, but none of that troubles as it’s all juicy gravy good times and has a pretty and fresh vibe with drinkability riding high. Woody spice, not oak, but stems and undergrowth and such, play a part in the flavours here. So too does a kind of meaty, game-like quality. It rolls around the palate softly, broad, lush in a way, but vibrant. Hedonistic but kind of loose and free. Moreish in the definitive sense – compels you to drink more. The NADESON COLLIS ‘Inception’ is a blend of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, 15 months on lees with 1.5g/l dosage.

Using the finest Chardonnay & Pinot Noir from Drumborg, Henty the grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a mixture of barriques and foudre. 75% from the 2017 vintage with 25% reserve wine coming from a perpetual blend that has been developing since 2006.

The Koerner Riesling is grown on the Koerner family vineyard, Gullyview, in Watervale, Clare Valley.

This vineyard has been farmed by the Koerners for 35 years, the sons Damon and Jonathan are intimate with the fruit and it shows. This is Watervale Riesling with more character and texture than the 'classic' styles of wine the region is famous for.

The fruit spent six hours on skins, wild fermentation in steel and ceramic amphora, and ten months on fine lees. No fining, no filtering, just a tiny bit of sulphur before bottling. It’s got all the drive and precision you want from Watervale Riesling, but with more layers, a little grip, and a whole lot of personality.

ACertified organic Chenin Blanc from Willyabrup. Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed direct to season french barrels. Battonage for three months then racked to settle before bottling.

Jo Perry, the winemaker and her viticulturist partner Jim have got their priorities right, focusing first and foremost on sourcing high quality fruit, before worrying about what to do with it in the winery.

The fruit is handpicked and whole bunch pressed straight into barrel for wild ferment, where it sits on its lees before being bottled with no fining or filtration.

It's a lovely, unique expression of this loveable variety, and if you like your whites with a bit of texture and oomph, then this will be right up your alley.

Lighter weight, a sluice of red cherry, rose hip cherry, all of this tightly wound with those green herb and peppery notes, skinny in its jive and cinched with ultra fine, silty tannin lending a long, drying pucker post sips. Fragrant, frisky, needs some time to see it elevate, but even now has a slinky swagger that should drag pinotphiles in. Sleek, elegant, personality plus."

Another cracking release Pinot Noir from Owen Latta.

The vines are MV6 clone grown on Volcanic grey loam soils over weathered basalt sitting at 430m alt,
plantings ranging from 40 - 27 years. This year in September has been planted another 2000 Pinot Noir vines using 115 clone, exciting times 40 years on from the 1st establishment. Blocks harvested from 4/04 - 6/4/21, all into the original 3000L concrete fermenters using no pumps, as always spontaneous fermentation
via our indigenous yeasts, pump overs twice daily, vats basket pressed 19/04/2021 - 20/04/2021, transferred into 228L barriques of various coopers, topped monthly, sulphur added post malo in November, racked from barrels in late march 2022 no fining or filtering, bottled on 21/10/22. A small amount of sulphur post malo & pre bottling.
