The TMV Chardonnay from young Ricky Evans is a wine designed to tell the story of the vintage through the lens of the Tamar Valley

This wine is made from two different parcels of fruit from Ricky's fledgeling vineyard. It's a classic, generous expression of Chardonnay from the region. This is only the first release and it's very promising.

Ricky has made quite a lot of Chardonnay during his previous life at a bigger Tasmanian-based wine company, here is his chance to make the style of Chardonnay that he wants to drink.

It's excellent value - you'll need to look long and hard for a better priced Chardonnay of this quality from the Apple Isle.

TMV is a snapshot of the Tamar Valley in any given year, from the perspective of TTT.

This wine is from Tasmania’s Tamar Valley (TMV). Beginning just south of Launceston the valley winds 50km north to its meeting point with the powerful Bass Strait.

Produced from different sites, our intent with this wine is to reflect what we believe are the standout characteristics of the Tamar Valley sub region.

Juicy and vibrant, when picked at the right time TMV pinot noir expresses red fruits and spice. There is softness within its warm heart, it leaves you with a trail of freshness and closes with strawberry seed-like tannin.

Super Limited, Super Slinky & Oh So Delicious

2019 was basically the opposite of 2020: a lovely spring; even budburst and fruit set; and a glorious picking period with fine weather. The wines from this vintage are bolder and more powerful and the depth of fruit is a hallmark of the year.

The Wolf only comes along in the right years... 100% whole-bunch inclusion, from the best part of the Three Wishes Vineyard that was planted in 1999. This is indeed also a component of the Dog & Wolf (the bunchy part), and when balance is pitch perfect (fruit purity and power with savoury tannin and spice), a small amount is bottled separately under this label. It is left to mature in the bottle and the cellar until it feels right—this style can be shy when young and take time to evolve. There's earth and spice with red fleshy fruits, and plenty of length, structure and mouthfeel.
