Nebbiolo Rosé. Pyrenees fruit (rosé clone), single vineyard. Picked at 10.5 Baumé in mid May - a long season with amazing fruit. A few different techniques making it, Zero Adds. Malo finally finished in February. A wild ride, one of my favourite Rosé yet.
The grapes are sourced from three vineyard sites ‘within walking distance of each other’, including the Latta family’s Eastern Peake vineyard. Ballarat fruit here. It’s given some extended maceration and sees a natural ferment with no additions, including no sulphur. Beautifully fresh feel. Breezy.
Far south west Victoria, organic practices in the vineyard, a beautiful part of Victoria, great people who love their vineyard (close to Hochkirch wines). I really wanted to play with some Gris again, (last time was in 2007 for a contract job). 2 harvests, Barrel ferment, skin contact, stainless, etc I wanted to have a lot of fun making this (same grapes as Good Times Pet Nat). All seperate batches were racked & put together in November then Bottled with no additions in February.
From 40% Glenlofty & 60% Malakoff - seperate harvesting dates. Vineyards are right next to each other. Two amazing vineyards for Nebbiolo quite different flavour profiles. A great season for Nebbiolo, there were lots of batches made to experiment with the variety. This is a selection of barrels for an early release. No added S02.
