From the best block of the estate vineyard. Very good colour; a delicious pinot that fills the senses with perfumed fruit from the first whiff through to the finish and aftertaste; purity, elegance and length are the foundations, generous satsuma plum fruit with just the right amount of savoury tannin support.

An unusual presentation of the MV6 clone in the Estate vineyard produces fruit of great density of flavour, and very low yield (0.5 tonnes/acre). This wine was fermented with 100% whole bunch inclusion and had pre- fermentation maceration for 7-10 days. Wild yeast fermentation in small open vats proceeded with daily pigéage. Pressing was straight to barrel (100% new French oak) to allow for gross lees contact and natural MLF.

We will deliver within two working days for orders received by 8:30pm Monday to Friday, depending on the delivery area. Orders received on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays will be delivered the day following the next working day.

Delivery service will be suspended when typhoon signal No.8 or above or a black rain warning is hoisted. In this event, customers will be contacted to re-schedule the delivery time.

Lethbridge "Allegra" Chardonnay 2011 (Museum Release)

Varietal(s): 100% Chardonnay

Rich nectarine and lime with flowers, oatmeal, sandalwood and spice – a musky exotic perfume – spent matchsticks cast aside. Full flavoured with gloss and savoury cashew richness, but tight limey acidity courses through its veins to thrilling effect, and the flint and quartz plays out on a superb long and gently honeyed finish. It responds beautifully to air, though it tastes so good it’s a battle keeping it in the glass long enough. What a wine!

The Fruit for the Allegra Chardonnay was sourced entirely from the historic Rebenberg Vineyard on Mount Duneed, an area first planted with vines in 1858. The premium fruit comes from over 35 year old vines yielding less than one tonne/acre, and was hand-picked at 13.2 Bé and pH 3.25. Fruit was whole bunch pressed and run into 100% new French oak puncheons (450-500L) without prior clarification. Fermentation occurred with indigenous yeast. Following the end of fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel with natural yeasts. Wines were left in barrel on gross lees for a further 15 months prior to marriage and bottling. Extended bottle maturation of this wine will allow the tight complex character of this wine to develop.
