⚠️ Ten Minutes NOT like you know it… Some mistakes make beautiful things sometimes ! A very unique expression of this vineyard, and we love it ! A bit on the wild side with still some carbonic bringing the wine to a new level😉

The Coolart Road vineyard is the earliest picked of the Ten Minutes by Tractor vineyards and typically produces a more fleshy wine.

Made from the MV6 clone in D block on Coolart Road Vineyard this sultry perfumed Pinot Noir displays dark cherry, bramble and earthy notes that is beautifully rounded out by the chewy and grippy tannins. The rich palate keeps giving in the glass now and will in the bottle for some time.

Vintage...

The 2018 vintage was a big contrast to the 2017 vintage; in fact, it was very similar to 2016. The 2018 vintage began with heavier than normal winter rains and cooler temperatures which delayed budburst but warmer spring weather resulted in perfect conditions for flowering leading to very good fruit set and promising high yields. Grapes matured with optimum sugar, flavour and tannin development resulting in high quality parcels from all sites. It was our third earliest harvest, leading to our shortest ever hang time.

• 20% whole bunches • 30 days on skins in concrete • following pressing, the wine was transferred to 17% new 228 litre French oak barrels for 11 months • natural malolactic fermentation before bottling unfined and with minimal filteration

Tete de Cuvee is a french term used to describe a winery's top release - the pride of the estate. To continue the french them, this is Adrian Rodda's paean to Bordeaux, a Cabernet Sauvignon blend that also features Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot.

It's Australian Cabernet of high order, though firm and proud currently, and needing to cellar. Poised and dense, bathing in chocolate and blackcurrant flavours and held in check by ripe but potent tannins. The fruit source is the Smith's Vineyard, planted in 1978.

It's a first release, and a partner wine to the similarly excellent Triangle Block Chardonnay. Stash some in the cellar.

Dry, bitter and fragrant. The Cinq a Sept Extra Dry is specifically designed for those that love a very dry Martini but can be used a range of cocktails. The components are Lemon and Grapefruit peel, Cardamom, Fennel seed, black Pepper, Rosemary, Thyme, Lemon Thyme, Tarragon, Oregano and Angelica. The palate has imperceptible sweetness and is quite (some would say very) bitter. Its a mixer. We love our version of a Dry and Dry using the ED and some Bundaberg Ginger beer but use it in anything for an aromatic lift and a bitter twist.

A delicate nose of lemon blossom and white petals. There is great presence and texture on the palate without being overwhelming. The wine is really pure and zappy with tangerine-like acidity, lively and wirey. This wine shows the restrained wine-making that lets the fruit be front and centre which is a good thing because this is some seriously good fruit.

The wines of Merricks are amongst, if not the best, wines of the Mornington Peninsula. They have an arresting balance between vibrant aromatics, silky smooth palate and firm refreshing tannins. The palest of the three wines, the 2017 Merricks displays a bright crimson edge and lifted raspberry and cranberry notes. The palate has a silky feel with very fine tannins and refreshing acidity.
