The Story
Daniel Balzer established Willem Kurt in 2013 and released his first vintage in 2014. Daniel is focused on making individual and unique hand-crafted wines that are complex, balanced and approachable.
Daniel makes tiny quantities of hand-crafted Shiraz, Chardonnay and Vermentino from Beechworth and the Alpine Valleys.
The Approach
Daniel sources fruit from excellent vineyards in Beechworth and the Alpine Valleys and believes that the best wine is made with the least possible interference, enabling the wine to express its varietal qualities, and the nuances of the season in which it was harvested.
