The Timo Mayer Volcanic Syrah, like the Pinot Noir, comes from volcanic, red basalt soils, although this time from near Gembrook. It shows a wonderful mix of bright cherry and plum fruitiness on the nose, as well as some minerality, but after a bit of airing, the dark fruits start to shine, bringing with them some spicy tones.

The palate is silky and rich, with great concentration of flavour and a tannin structure that gives it grip and interest in the mouth. It finishes with orange and smokiness, delivering another captivating Timo Mayer

Demi is a mid-weight Shiraz with loads of character from three well-known vineyards in Heathcote. There's a fair amount of whole bunches used, giving lifted aromatics and spice. A lot of thought and detailed winemaking! A terrific introduction to a hugely exciting Victorian winemaker, and as far as Heathcote Shiraz goes this as good value as any!

12th release. The 2022 Demi by Syrahmi is a blend of three vineyards from the Heathcote region. Kennedy’s, Carl Brown, & Cavalry all make up the blend with a typical high percentage of whole bunch (+60%). Wild yeast fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Open fermenter, foot & hand plunging with minimal pump overs. Matured in new and seasoned French oak for 12 months and a further 3 months in stainless steel before bottling.
