100% Destemmed fruit is held at 10 degrees for cold maceration for 4 days prior to gentle warming and the onset of natural fermentation. The wine is held on skins for 28 days and regularly plunged throughout. After pressing, maturation occurred in old barrels for 7 months at cold temperatures without sulphur. Then racked, lightly sulphured and put back to barrel for another 2 months before bottling unfined and unfiltered. Just over a year in bottle to soften out a touch.

"A ripper vintage for Nebbiolo, even though it was an early harvest across the board it wasn’t that early for Nebbiolo in Western Victoria. This wine is sourced from the vineyards of Glenlofty 60% & Malakoff 40% (5 mins apart) in the Landsbrough Valley Pyrenees Victoria.

The two vineyard parcels were kept separate in fermentation & élevage, I applied many different techniques learnt from being around wineries all my life. Single batches of varying percentages of whole bunch, time on skins, ageing length in cask. the wine just looked so complete as one unit together to represent the Landsbrough Valley.

Miniscule release of whole bunch Nebbiolo from one of the Yarra's most unique characters, the one and only Timo Mayer.

Amazing colour, vivid garnet with faintest bronze. Bold bouquet of sweet earth, new leather, sour cherry, rose hip tea. Striking. The palate is wildly crunchy, almost glass-shard like in its crackle and mad angles, then slips into a tongue-on-the-roof-of-mouth rolling pucker with more of the sour cherry and rose hip tea-like character. Wonderful drinking, delivering fine and unique tannin profile with bright-as-a-button flighty nebbiolo character. Cool as, yet serious. Brilliant in its way
